Margie Bauman first came to Alaska in 1964 as a journalist and in the ensuing years also worked in other states for United Press International, CBS News and the Associated Press. Returning to Alaska as a writer and photographer in 1990, she has followed a number of issues, from the Alaska Native Land Claims movement to commercial fisheries, tourism and environmental issues.

Her photos have appeared in a number of publications, including Alaska magazine, Fishermens' News, and dozens of others nationwide, accompanied by her stories carried over the Associated Press wires. She is the senior Alaska correspondent for The Fishermens' News and also accepts photo/news article assignments with other publications on a cross-section of economic and environmental issues ranging from commercial and sport fishing to tourism and telecommunications. |
