Mark Kelley has been a freelance photographer for more than 20 years. His color photos have been featured on the covers of more than 75 publications including the State of Alaska Vacation Planner (2 covers), Alaska Magazine, Outside magazine, Sunset, and Alaska Airlines magazine. Mark's photography has been published in National Wildlife, GEO, Travel & Leisure, Travel Holiday, Time, Newsweek, Outdoor Life, Runner's World and dozens of other publications. Annual report clients include shoots for National Bank of Alaska, Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation Sealaska, and AIDEA. Four coffee table style photography books have featured Mark's work exclusively. His book, Juneau Portrait II was released in the spring of 1997. |
Mark's photos are featured each year in two different 12-month color calendars. Mark moved to Alaska in 1974 to attend the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. Graduating in 1978 with a degree in journalism, he worked for a year at the Ithaca Journal in Ithaca, New York, before returning to Alaska in 1979. He worked as a photographer for the Juneau Empire (Juneau's only daily newspaper) for 14 years until he left in 1993 to freelance full time. Mark did graduate studies in photography at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. He licenses photos through Mira.com, the stock agency of Creative Eye, an artists' cooperative. |
